What A Proper Diagnosis Can Include
- Pre-test discussion and confirmation of the exact symptom, operating temperature and conditions.
- Whole-vehicle fault assessment so engine, ABS, battery and network faults are not ignored.
- Transmission fault environment, freeze-frame and event-history review.
- Live-data comparison of clutch, selector, speed, pressure and temperature values.
- Basic electrical checks including power supply, earth integrity, communication and actuator circuits where applicable.
- Fluid level, condition and contamination assessment when the transmission design permits it.
- Controlled road testing, static actuation tests, basic settings and adaptation assessment where appropriate.
- Further mechanical testing or dismantling recommendation when electronic testing cannot conclusively identify internal damage.
