DQ250 · Clutch diagnosis

VW Passat

VW Passat models can use the DQ250 transmission family in selected configurations. Selected transverse six-speed wet-clutch DSG variants.

Fitment Must Be ConfirmedThe badge and model year are not enough to order transmission parts. Engine, drivetrain, build date, VIN-level service data and the gearbox code are checked first.

Possible Clutch-Related Symptoms

Take-off shudder, delayed engagement, flare, slip under load, clutch-limit values or poor basic-setting results may justify clutch investigation. Those symptoms are not exclusive to the clutch pack, so mechatronic operation, flywheel condition, engine torque delivery and contamination are considered before replacement.

What Can Be Tested

Hydraulic testsSystem pressure, pressure loss, pump operation and solenoid command versus response
Clutch testsSlip, engagement, learned values and behaviour under controlled load
Fluid / mechanicalCorrect level, contamination, noise, ratio errors and evidence of internal wear

Before Repair Authorisation

The findings explain the fault evidence, additional testing or dismantling required, the proposed parts pathway and the applicable warranty terms. Where the transmission cannot be conclusively diagnosed externally, that limitation is stated before removal or dismantling is authorised.

Service guidance: Many DQ250 applications have a scheduled fluid and filter service, commonly around 60,000 km. The exact interval, fluid and level procedure are verified for the VIN and gearbox code.
